Hi, I’m Laura.
As young as elementary school, I had the desire to write children's books. This dream has been on my heart for more than 25 years (a lot of that time, a perhaps "dormant" dream while life happened around me). Every year in school, I submitted to the "Young Authors" contest, winning often. But being a children's book author didn't seem realistic. I'd never known anyone personally that was a published author.
About 3 years ago, I began an inner journey of remembering who I truly wanted to be and what I desired most out of this life. Being a wife (no matter how amazing your spouse may be -- and mine, Tanner, is freaking top tier!) and mother of five, it was incredibly easy (I'd say even instinctual) to put my childhood dreams on the back burner while life happened around me. Admittedly during the writing and publishing process, I have even caught myself feeling "selfish" for chasing after this goal, as it naturally took some time away from my family (although minimal). My nervous system was literally wired to feel guilt over doing something for me.
But we all know, you can't pour from an empty cup.
And writing fills my cup immensely. Publishing my first children's book, The Light In Me Sees The Light In You, was beyond rewarding and beyond anything I imagined, it became a #1 Amazon bestseller in Christian Early Readers, #1 Hot New Release in Baby & Toddler Nursery Rhyme, and #2 bestseller in Christian Friendship.
And now, I get to do it again with my second book, Quack-A-Doodle-Moo: A Farmyard Hullabaloo, a silly, joyful farmyard romp that I can't wait for your little ones to meet!
